What Learning Coaches Need to Know
Does TNCA offer Tutoring?
Yes! TNCA offers tutoring in all subject areas. Students can meet with a live tutor to get help with learning a concept or assistance with a portfolio or lesson. To access the tutor, please click on the Live Tutor button on student's home page.
How long should my child spend on each assignment?
The following indicates how long it should take your student to complete each assignment item type.

Math Quiz – 45 minutes to 1 hour
Math Test – at least 1 hour
ELA Quiz – 35 to 45 minutes
ELA Test – at least 1 hour
Science Quiz – 30 minutes
Science Test – 40 minutes
SS History Quiz – 30 minutes
SS History Test – 50 minutes
Quick Checks – at least 10-15 minutes
What daily tasks do Learning Coaches need to complete?
At TNCA Learning Coaches serve the most important role in their child's education. They will complete the day-to-day instruction for each lesson with their child. In addition to daily instruction, the Learning Coach will monitor grades, take daily attendance, and provide a structured and positive learning environment for the student. This might sound like a lot, but TNCA offers many resources to help LCs be just as successful as their student. Help! How do I fix attendance?
Attendance is a daily task that Learning Coaches enter daily. Go ahead and set an alarm on your phone to remind you to put 7 hours of attendance in daily. Teachers are not able to make corrections to attendance so it is important that you complete this each day. If you do forget to put in attendance make sure to make the correction within three days (including weekends). If the error is more than three days old please webmail the Attendance Adjuster (not your child's teacher).
